At the beginning of December 2013, the children’s culture project “Garā pupa” has announced a competition “I will be a future musician” where at least two talented children form Latvia lacking means to buy a musical instrument will receive one as a Christmas present with the support of the company SIA “Getz Bros. & Co Latvia”. Students of music schools – the future musicians of Latvia – may be registered for the project to help them reach the heights of their talent! “Along with financing the annual world music festival Rigas ritmi, we have set the priority to support students in the field of arts. From 2010 to 2012, Kraslava Art School received our aid in the form of funds for new study materials; also the project of Sigulda Art School for the purchase of new musical instruments was supported. As of this year, “Getz Bros. & Co. (Latvia)” will help the young talents and strivers in the field of music. In the world of art there is no time dimension – time is replaced by emotions and feelings. By giving our support to children who are taking their first conscious steps in this beautiful and real world, we want to encourage them to go further, see the beauty and feel its magic. This is one of the many ways towards the true and immense value – inner freedom. We wish to lend our hand in this,” Simons Kozlinskis, Member of the Board of “Getz Bros. & Co. (Latvia)”, tells about the intention to participate in the project.
“Garā pupa” is a children’s culture project which cares about and reminds the society of the importance of culture in successful development and education of children. Inclusion in the cultural processes of children who lack such opportunity due to social or regional inequality or their parent’s inertness is of main significance. The Christmas campaign with the support of “Getz Bros .& Co Latvia” is only one of the project activities aimed at fostering the young talents in Latvia and teaching children the love for culture – music, theatre, art, literature – from early age.
