Between March and May this year a campaign took place in Latvia calling drivers to support purchase of special studying equipment for the children attending Strazdumuižas special boarding school.
During the campaign 15 euro cents from each purchased Trico brand windshield wiper were donated for the purchase of special Braille typing machines for Strazdumuižas secondary boarding-school for visually-impaired and blind children – the only educational institution in Latvia, where children and youth with severe visual disturbances are being provided with studying process adapted to visual peculiarities.
Due to responsiveness of drivers over 3000 euro were donated during campaign, and this money will be delivered to Strazdumuižas special boarding-school, and it can be expected that the students of this school will meet next year of studies with heartening news regarding addition of the studies equipment.

We all just thought a little, donated a few cents, but this means three new Braille typing machines for Strazdumuižas boarding-school. Really – all the big works start off with something very little!”
Braille typing machines is an individually usable mechanical or electronic device used by blind people both in studying process and free time by taking notes and performing other writing tasks independently, in good quality, quickly and conveniently. In order to use this typing machine, varied Braille characters and arrangement of the keys of typing machine (altogether 6) must be learnt. Braille typing machine is an extremely necessary for the education and development of personality of a blind individual. This device enables self-fulfilment in the widest fields of science and art, as well as learning of modern technologies and allows for efficient life people with those specific needs.
